Ronald Reagan National Airport will Close for USA 250th Anniversary Celebrations

Arrivals and departures will cease at noon on July 4th.

Flights will be grounded at Ronald Reagan National Airport for the United States’ 250th Anniversary celebrations starting at noon on July 4th. President Trump’s administration has scheduled flyovers, parachutists, and fireworks over Washington, D.C., which will require the stoppage of arrivals and departures.

Rehearsals for events surrounding the Great American State Fair, the Grand Prix, and Independence Day will temporarily halt flights starting in late June. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) reported the previous modification of flight schedules to accommodate temporary suspensions of operations.

The summer events in the nation’s capital that will impact flights include: the Great American State Fair opening on June 24-25, Military Appreciation Day on June 28, Independence Day rehearsals and celebrations July 3-4, the Great American State Fair closeout flyover and parachute jump on July 10, and the Grand Prix near the National Mall August 22-23.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and members of his administration as they launch the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
  • For FAA and MWAA officials as they seek to ensure the safety of aerial performances and the continuity of air travel into the nation’s capital.
